
Target State Communications
April 2023 – Present
- The target state communication describes how the new digital and technology capability will meet the business vision for the delivery of services and its strategic objectives.
- The Target State Conceptual View provides a holistic view of the organisation’s target state technology architecture and supporting capabilities to address current issues and gaps.
- Additionally, a set of characteristics have been defined for each of the twenty-eight (28) capabilities featured in the Capability Overview Model. These characteristics can be traced to the intent statements and must be enabled in the target state.
- The recommendation for the Technology Platform is to ‘hollow out’ functions which are not fundamental to a Technology Platform capability and offer these as integrated services.
ECLIPSE Real-time integration (industry services)
January 2022 – September 2023
- The Australian Government Department of Human Services (Human Services) in collaboration with the healthcare industry, the medical software industry and public and private hospitals, developed Medicare online claiming, including the Electronic Claim Lodgement and Information Processing Service Environment (ECLIPSE).
- Health Sector Entities (HSEs) can use ECLIPSE for the communication of health information, eligibility checks, and hospital and medical claims between connected entities.
- ECLIPSE claiming processes follow current privacy and legislative requirements, as determined under the Health Insurance Act 1973, and relevant Human Services and industry guidelines and policies.
